The thirties are the time that expression lines between the eyebrows (“the elevens”), crow’s feet, horizontal forehead lines and “smile lines” between the nose and mouth often start to become more prominent.

These expression lines progress from being present with active expression, to becoming permanently present even when the face is at rest, which is what cosmetic dermatologists call “etched.”
